Who are we ?
The Restaurant Colinette is an establishment open for about 50 years. Three generations of hotelier restauranteurs have managed it.

A little bit of history...
|
Colinette was born out of a simple house. The neighbourhood of Vallières was founded in 1932. The house located 16 avenue de la Grande Plage was baptized: Colinette.
 
In 1945, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Colas bought this little house. The war as well as the bombardment of 1945 had ravaged the area, and only its wall remained. The inside had been entirely destroyed by the blast of the bombs. The renovation was finished in 1948. In 1957, they decided to sell their butcher shop in Charente to open a small inn in their house near the beach with only five bedrooms. At Easter of the same year, they opened the restaurant to a budding success. Following this flourishing start, they built the first part of the current restaurant, opening it in July 1957. In 1959, there was another addition to the restaurant as well as four additional rooms built above it. In 1964, the current hotel was built. There were 14 rooms in total at the time.
In 1966, Mr. Georges Colas, the son, took over the business of his parents together with his wife. In 1969, they built an addition to the restaurant as well as the reading room. The current bar was built in 1976. In 1972, a new building of 7 rooms was built 50 meters away: Costabéla. In 1987, the restaurant was entirely renovated. The family enterprise became incorporated on January 1, 1994
In 1995, the grandson, Mr. Jérôme Colas, took over the business, and became the manager of the company. The hotel part of Colinette was entirely renovated in 2000. All the rooms are equipped with double glazing windows and an optimum sound isolation, private WC, private bathroom with either a shower or a bathtub, Internet hook-up and private telephone line. The kitchen has also been entirely remodelled and brought to the current safety and hygiene norms. In 2003, Costabéla was also entirely renovated.

Toward quality service...

Since its 1950s inception, Colinette was able to evolve with the times. While always thriving to improve, to respect new European norms, and to enhance the quality of its service for its customers, today Colinette is recognized by different companies attesting to the quality of comfort and customer service.

Hotel Colinette is a two-star hotel.
It is a member of Logis de France since 2000 and bears 2 cheminées (fireplaces) since 2005 and 1 cocotte (cooker) since 2008.

Colinette was certified Qualite-tourime in 2007; it is a national hallmark guarantying services of equal level
|
Today, Colinette employs of seven employees working year-round.
More remodelling is scheduled to complete the total renovation of Colinette.
The restaurant will be renovated: the bar, the restaurant, and the garden. The garden will be laid out for eating outside, under a canopy of pine trees.
An elevator will be installed to facilitate access to the second floor
Three new rooms are planned
One will be “familial” with two adjoining rooms, on the first floor, will be wheelchair accessible and will follow the norms of Tourisme et Handicaps.
